Young Champ a Life's Abundance Puppy From the Get Go!

Life's Abundance Dog Food is my Favorite Meal! Throw in some Life's Abundance Treats between meals & I'm one Happy Camper!

Champ at 3 Months
Bad to the Bone!
Champ arrived full if piss & vinegar, He was into everything, cell phones, remotes, shoes, cloths, garden hoses were no match for his relentless chewing. If I wasn't careful about my money clip it would end up passing through his intestines along with some dead Presidents.
His redeeming attribute was & still is that he loves everyone and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He was just a 4 legged chipper/ shredder and never seemed to get tired. With Champs addition to our pet family I had move up my Life's Abundance Dog Food order to every 3 weeks instead of every 5 weeks. He sure can put it away!
He's a big boy now (115 lbs) a long way from the (15 lbs) he was at 3 months. I try my best to take him with me as much as possible, he loves to ride shotgun in the truck because someone always seems to give him a treat or two when we stop at the store or gas station.
We better close now because it's time for me and Champ to take our nightly walk, I really look forward to our time together.

"Buddy" The Cool Dude Returns!! / Life's Abundance

Ed went and brought Buddy home from the vet today. He stayed a few extra days after his Neuter surgery for some R&R and to help heal battle wounds. The girls at the vet hated to see him go, they hung a "Cool Dude" Tag on him.
I think we will have Buddy as a new house cat because I heard Jean trying to convince Ed that Buddy needed to rest and not roam for the next couple of weeks til he healed completely. Make sense to me but I know Buddy will use that pitiful look into getting a full time inside cat gig.
I'm really glad he's back, it's nice to have the added male support with all these females around.
Buddy came back real hungry, the Life's Abundance Cat Food Ed left the vet was never used. They must have misplaced it so Buddy ate very little after surgery. He sure ate his fill when Jean gave him a huge dish full of Sassy's favorite food, That's Life's Abundance you know. He ate till I thought his belly would bust then he took a long nap in the cage Ed set up on the back deck.
It will probably take some time for everyone to get adjusted to another house cat and for Buddy to learn the "House Rules" I expect everyone to follow. I play no favorites so he better be a quick study and toe the line.
That's about all the news I have for now but I will keep you up to speed with future posts if I can get Ed to type them for me.        Woof for now!

Buddy The Coy Lazy Mooch!

I have been learning a bunch of stuff from my new friend "Buddy". He really knows how to always get his way, he puts a pitiful look on his face and the women fall for the look and just keep feeding him and giving him treats and hugs. He went missing last week for about 5 days and Jean & Ed looked everywhere for him. Ed went to animal control, the Vet & around the neighborhood putting up fliers in the hope someone had seen Buddy. Sure enough Ed got a call from a guy in the condos across the street that Buddy was hanging out on his porch with a stray female cat the last few days. All this time he was only 200 yards away, I went with Ed to get him and when he saw us he came running straight to Ed. He wasn't punished for his bad behavior because he flashed that pitiful look and Ed bought it. All the women could say was how sweet he was and the kids just loved him. He had been Mooching food from about a 1/2 dozen houses. Since he's been back he hangs out with Patches & Tigger our two female out side cats and he either sleeps on the hood of Ed's truck, the porch or the glider. Buddy better enjoy himself while he can because I heard Ed make an appointment for him to get fixed next Thursday, hoping that will keep him closer to home. I could warn him but I won't because no one gave me a heads up when I was just a pup. I'm going to get on Ed's bed so I can look in the mirror and work on my pitiful look, I could always use a few more treats! Woof, Woof  for now. Champ..

Champ the Rockaholic

I have been very bad the last few days and I just can't seem to help myself. My problem is that I just love to eat rocks, you heard me correctly,  rocks of all sizes and shapes. The big ones have caused me some serious problems with me having to be operated on to remove them from my belly and intestines. My Vet said she wishes she could install a zipper on my belly to make her job easier. In the past 3 years I have had 4 rocks cut out of me, you think I would learn and stop doing it but I am a rockaholic! Well Wednesday morning I threw up my breakfast and Ed knew what that meant and he took me straight to the vet to get x rays, and you guessed it  there was a rock in my intestine, it wasn't real big but it needed to move on out. Dr. Michele thought it could work it's way out with a proper diet of medication and food. So for 5 days I was fed pure pumpkin puree, unsweetened apple sauce and Metamucil along with my Life's Abundance dry and can food. A couple of times each day Ed would put on some rubber gloves and check each pile of poop for the rock, it finally exited Sunday afternoon much to my re-leaf. I felt like a new man with a bounce in my step again and Ed took me on a long walk to be sure I was OK and have a heart to heart talk with me. New rules were set, no treats if I don't quit eating rocks period! I live for my treats so I had better break the rock habit. I'll try really really hard, Woof Woof!

Champ Meets His Family

I was awoken from my first nap by something wet on my face, not sure what it was but it felt good. All of a sudden the darkness went away and I was able to see the things around me for the first time. It  was my Mom's big pink tongue licking me from head to toe, mystery solved. She had a big smile on her face and love in her eyes, I knew I would be safe with her around! She certainly had her paws full because I spotted a bunch of brothers & sisters piled up all around me, I was told later that there were eleven of us all told most were black like myself with a few chocolate ones thrown in for good measure. Mom spent most of her time tending to us making sure we were clean and warm, her tongue never stopped licking. I was glad to have a big family with plenty of playmates to hang out with, and I look forward to getting to know each one of them but I could see a problem brewing, with a limited number of dishes available at meal time! I am sure things will work out. Well I wasn't the only one thinking about dinner since a line was beginning to form and making its way to the buffet table. I put it in top gear and started to throw some elbows to stake me out a good spot, you'd better be quick with this bunch or you would have to wait for the 2'nd serving. I'm glad it was all you eat because I was real hungry and I ate till my belly was about to pop. I no sooner backed away from the buffet than my place was taken by one of my siblings. He was really hungry so I let him have at it. There were a couple of guys already laid out taking a nap my thoughts exactly, so I crawled over and joined them for some much needed ZZZZ's!! We'll play and get to know each other later. woof, woof....

Pets 10 Commandments

Champ Asks All Pet Owners to Please Follow These Simple Commandments

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years.. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me.. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak..
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch.. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

Champ's First Memories - The Beginning!

I've been thinking lately about my very early days in the pet world and trying to recall my very first thoughts. I can remember being in a totally dark hot and wet place very wet. It was so dark I was unable to make out what or who was around me or their numbers. The room was filled to capacity with body's   pressed tight against me. I had to keep kicking my legs to hold claim to my spot, not knowing then that marking your spot was going to be an everyday thing. From what I could tell there had to be a bunch of either friends or foes around me considering the number of time I've been poked and prodded. All of a sudden I felt a cool breeze and had the feeling I was falling, followed by an abrupt stop. Not to sure what just happened and  I  was in no pain so nothing had been broken throughout the short ordeal. I now had plenty of room to wiggle around but I still couldn't tell what was around me since it was still pitch black, at least the kicks and pokes had almost stopped. I figured a meal would be served directly so a nap was the game plan till it arrived. Just as I found a suitable spot something huge and wet started to push me all around rolling me over and over from my head to my tail giving me a long over due cleaning,  it sure felt good to get my first bath, squeaky clean from  head to toe!  After what seemed like an eternity one final flip and on my belly I landed. I was ready for chow but to my surprise there was no dish service available here it was buffet  style only. I thought this will have  to be changed  to strictly dish service because I' am a big tipper and who tips a buffet line anyway. Planning on going with the flow for now I attempted to stand  and  make my way to the buffet? This was not to be since I discovered my tiny legs were like rubber and I couldn't stand, what to do? No problem I'll  just crawl on my belly to the chow line. Apparently I wasn't the only one with that plan since I once again had to mark and fight for a spot at the buffet table. I latched on and held on as tight as I could, hang on or starve I thought.. I was determined  to fill my little belly for the first time. When done I will  roll over and take that well needed nap,  plus my brain is tired of thinking I'll reflect again tomorrow. So far life is good! woof

Champ Has a 3 Woof Day

I was afraid to wake up today,  the creepy guy scared off Honey Bear yesterday and she wasn't home when I got into bed next to Ed last night. He told me not to worry that Honey Bear had never spent a whole night away from home, heck she likes the good Life's Abundance food Ed gives her to even miss just one meal. That made me feel a little better since I've seen her smack Sassy or Pooh Bear if either one gets to close to her dish before she's done filling her belly. It seems as though the morning came sooner than usual, something was different it was still dark outside when Ed got up, that was not at all like him to get up early and in the dark. Just then I heard the sweet purring of my best friend Honey Bear, she had been at the foot of the bed all night long. I gave her face a good licking as a good morning hello so glad to see you! She likes me to lick her face, cleans up the sleepers. She said that she fell asleep in the shed and came to bed sometime after midnight and  that I was sleeping so well she didn't want to wake me. It's going to be a beautiful day to spend with buddy in the yard taking in some rays. Honey Bear explained why it was still dark this morning, something called day light savings time,I'll be damned if I know how Ed's going to save any day light, what would he put it in, how long before it goes bad. I can't figure people out some times, saving something that shows up most every day. Oh Oh I hear the Treat jar rattling, time for a snack before breakfast than a nap afterwards, truly a 3 Woof day!! WOOF, WOOF WOOF. Later....

Oh Where is Our Honey Bear

I Love Honey Bear Close
Well today started off great, slept in, had a big bowl of food waiting for me in the laundry room so I can eat in peace without Sassy showing herself. It was strange to see Ed getting yard tools, saws and a ladder out of the building this early or even at all since he always tries to beg out of any kind of physical work. Then I heard a scooter come up the drive with a creepy looking guy on it, he must be lost I thought, no problem since Ed will handle him. I'm not often wrong if ever but Ed went out and greeted the guy and started showing him things he wanted done in the yard. Things went down hill from there, right off when Honey Bear took a look at the guy she took off as if her tail was on fire. Out the pet door over the fence onto the woods, fast as lighting, with pure fear in her eyes. She spooks easily and I didn't think much more about it at the time. Well Ed said he had things to do in the office and that he would check back with the guy in a couple of hours to see how things were going and he should just holler if he needed " anything". You can guess how that went, " not to good". This guy bothered Ed a half a dozen time in the first hour causing Ed's blood pressure to boil over. The guy couldn't even open a 9'' pruning saw, if I had thumbs I'd have shown the creep how to open it. Ed was ready to tell the guy to get lost but then Ed's cell rang, a message from creepy guys girl friend to come home at once to handle a family problem. Ed was pleased and he turned to enter the house when creepy guy said he needed to get some gas for his Scooter which gets 100+  MPG to make the 10 mile trip home. Ed turned quickly, thought he was going to squash the guy but reached into his pocket and threw the guy a 20 dollar bill and said see'ya. Just then a smile came across Ed's face as he checked the time on his cell, " the Liquor store" just opened creepy guy was thirsty . Honey Bear come home!  I miss you!  Woof Woof.

Neko gets a Make Over

Neko Is a rescue Ed got when His Dad died in 2010. Dad lived in NJ and rescued Neko with the help of a pet friendly shelter called  11th Hour Rescue Rockaway NJ. Well Ed put Neko in the back seat of the Ford truck and to NC they came. About 11hours later Neko arrived and walked in my house as if he owned it, just looked around drank out of my water dish and demanded a treat. Upon close inspection he was an unkempt creature with the breath that could put a Water Buffalo to his knees. After a few trips to our vet Michael ,at Graham Animal Hospital for a full set of tests, shots and the much needed dental work. He next went to the groomer for a bath and blow dry and when he returned he was a new man looking pretty handsome. That was about a year ago and once he knew I was the top male in the house things went along smoothly. Ed found a new Groomer close to the house called Puppy Love -n- Style owned by Daphne Younger, she seems to really care for her customers and works hard to meet their needs. She also let Ed put a small display of his Life's Abundance Dog food in the shop. Neko is going to get the full treatment from Daphne this week.
Ed & Jean have been giving Neko some extra supplements, Skin & Coat and Agility pills every day. It's amazing how much his coat has improved and in fact a bare spot on his tail has healed and hair has filled the spot over. His dandruff is gone and his coat shines "almost" as much as my coat. The Agility Supplement has helped his arthritis a whole lot he even tries getting t in  the bed with me, I let him know right away that was not going to happen!
I wish I could ride along when Ed takes him to Daphne's but Ed said his truck has a One Dog Rule! They will leave soon so I'll beg some treats from Jean then take a nap. Woof for now!

Under The Weather

It seems as though Ed picked up a flue bug this weekend, all he does is cough. It was so bad I had go and sleep in Jean's bed.  It's pretty crowded since Star & Coco think they own the best spots but I pushed my weight around and made me a comfortable spot. Things were running smoothly until you guested it, Sassy showed up and went straight for my tail. That wasn't going to work so back to Ed's bed I went. It seems while I was gone Ed drank a bunch of Robitussin and his coughing was a lot less. I assumed my position, I like to spoon and keep Ed warm. Things worked out fine and I convinced Ed to call his doctor which he did, his appointment is 9:15 tomorrow, hope he lets me ride Shotgun!  Good Night & Woof for now!

Can you trust Female Cat's?

I was on the couch chewing my favorite bone, just waiting for Ed to return home from Wal-mart. Knowing all to well that Sassy was going to get the sassy attitude shaken right out of  her when Ed saw her website. Well  he came in looked at the laptop screen but didn't say a word, I thought he was too mad to speak so I just sat back with a huge smile on my face waiting for the top of Ed's head to explode.  Sassy was hunched  over with terror in her eyes under the living room coffee table. Well  you won't believe what happened next, Ed went over to Jean and thanked her for setting up Sassy's website because he wasn't sure when he could 've gotten to it since my "junk" as he called it was taking up so much of his time. Jean just played dumb and just said your welcome dear and turned to smile at Sassy. Than Sassy jumped on my tail and ran under the bed. That was their plan all along, you just can't trust females. I 've suddenly got a head ache and need a nap so Woof  for now!

Sassy Opens a Life's Abundance Business

I just can't believe the nerve of this little Lady, opening up a website without Ed's OK! I'm going to sit back and watch it hit the fan when Ed finds out, it's not going to be pretty. Sassy doesn't have a clue about running a business, all I've ever seen her do is sleep-poop-chase me and the Bear Sisters then sleep-poop, you can sorta get the idea. Ed has more than enough to do dealing with my Pet Food Stuff  than to be dealing with stinking CAT food. Click on this link to go to her site. www.sassyscatdish.com/.  Look it over and order some healthy food for your cat. Then come back here and let me know what you think?  I'll keep updated, right now I hear a Nap calling! So Woof for now!!

Sassy's Trip To The Vet

Sassy got fixed about 10 days ago and it was time to get her stitches taken out by the Vet. He knew better than to get the pet taxi out too soon because Sassy doesn't like to be put in it and she will run and hide. We'll he did & she did! It looked like the Three Stooges, gone wild. Watching Ed & Jean trying to get Sassy out from under the bed almost made me pee myself. I wish I could have taken a video to show you, it was sooo funny. With the Vet trip completed the house is back to normal, Ed had to take a nap since the event wore him slap out. I needed a nap also, my side was killing me from laughing so much. Well Woof for now!

Outside Cats

I only get to sniff of the outside cats when Ed takes me for a walk on the leash around the neighborhood. Which I'll have to say he dosen't do enough, but we'll address that in another post. There is Tigger & Patches who are sisters given to us by a friend of Jean. I think they are about 5 yrs. old. From what I hear they are good cats and do their job well, haven't seen a juicy mouse in months. They each have a two story carpeted condo on the covered front porch to sleep in during bad weather. The other cat is called Charcoal, when he showed up he was skinny and scared of everything. He's been staying around most days for about 3 yrs. now, has gained weight and looks real healthy, won't let Jean or Ed touch him though but he is nice to the other cats so he is welcome. That's basiclly the family, I'll get down to personalities later. Woof for now!

On My Mind

I have a lot I'd like to say but since I can't type and don't have thumbs I have to rely on Ed K. to post for me. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer so bear with him. Once he learns how I'll post some pictures of my family. They include 1 adopted brother Neko, 2 adoped sisters, Star & Coco, We lost Coco's sister Daisy to Doggy Heaven last year. 3 feline's who have the run of the house, the Bear Sisters-Honey & Pooh. That brings me to our newest house feline Sassafras Sassy for short, she has no fear sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and she has even tried to ride on my back. That's it for now, I'll talk about the outside cats next time, Woof for now!

Champ says "Where Are The Treats?"

Champ has to go on a diet because his weight has increased to 115 lbs. Fewer Healthy Heart Treats for him!

A Little Ball Of Fire

I'm taking sassy back to the vet so she can have her stiches removed from her surgery!
